خلاصه اهداف رشته:

• –  The master program in Economics is aimed to provide stu- dents with the quantitative and theoretical background and empirical training necessary to develop the analytical skills required to become a theoretical as well as an applied economist. Our program ensures that students gain a solid foundation in quantitative methods, economic theory and acquire a good knowledge on policy issues.
• –  By completing this Master students will be able to apply state-of-the-art economics and research techniques to real- world policy issues. Consistently with these objectives, the focus of the program is on:
  • advanced microeconomics and macroeconomics;
  • quantitative methods, such as math, statistics and econometrics, necessary to analyze and interpret economic phenomena;
  • study of elective fields such as political economy, industrial economics or public economics.

Courses will privilege an interdisciplinary approach.

خلاصه اهداف کورس:

Biotechnology is regarded worldwide as a strategic field for social development and progress. This view is particularly true in a Region that values Life Sciences as one of the engines for local development and, accordingly, has recently made substantial structural investments, thereby creating a large and stimulating milieu into which graduates in Plant and Animal Biotechnology can be perfectly integrated. This course has the ambitious objective of forming those who will have the responsibility to move biotechnology up from the present pioneer status to mass production and is therefore focused on developing individual student potential to provide the future leaders of a still emerging field. It thus aims to attract students who are willing to critically apply the concepts and technologies of one of the fastest advancing scientific fields of the last twenty years in their future professional activities. The student will be at the center of the teaching activities which are devoted not only to transferring advanced concepts, but also to developing the cultural maturity necessary for a critical and permeable approach capable of dealing with the innovations and advancements that rapidly occur in this technical-scientific field. The development of such a complex cultural sensibility will be achieved through new and, at times, non-conventional teaching methods, alongside theoretical and practical projects that will enhance the student’s individual abilities and skills.

At graduation, the student in Plant and Animal Biotechnology will have both acquired a large and comprehensive knowledge of the specific notions of this scientific field and will have also identified and learned the peculiar ways to acquire, elaborate and analyze information in this field, as well as the ability to synthesize and expose the results of the analysis. Thanks to the topics treated and the teaching language used, students will be able to professionally operate in an international context, as is necessary for this particular field.

A relevant and specific feature of this course will be the constant effort to develop planning and organizing skills: central to the graduate’s instruction will, indeed, be the stimulus to approach non-obvious context problems and to provide innovative and original solutions. The course will also promote contacts with international research scholars through participation in seminars, in order to permeate the supranational dimension of the context in which the professional graduate will have to work.

The educational objectives will be achieved through activities that include lectures, seminars and practical laboratory training. The students’ personal involvement will be stimulated through the preparation and presentation of short reports or projects and the preparation of the thesis. The training activities will be fully developed in English, placing the course in an international con- text.
